Commercial: ETRADE Data & Call Center

  • E*Trade, Data and Call Center: 1996 - 1998
Size: 72,000 s.f.
Location: Sacramento, California

Prospect Green 2 was the first of E*Trade's expansion projects in Sacramento. This project was master planned and then constructed in phases as E*Trade's expansion needs required. The conceptual organization of the floor plan into neighborhoods, all accessed along a major circulation spine, allowed changes to occur to the master plan without affecting the functionality of the building. The initial departments in the facility (customer service, systems, trading and compliance) all expanded to fill the entire building.

At multiple points along the circulation system, common facilities were distributed for easy access and adjacency to the departmental neighborhoods. These common facilities include break areas, copy / coffee stations and a variety of conference room types. At the far ends of the circulation spine, hardwall offices were grouped in order to oversee their respective departmental areas.

The existing building was designed for a maximum ceiling height of nine feet. In order to further articulate the departmental neighborhoods and the main circulation spine, the ceiling height alternates between nine feet and eight feet six inches within a simple pattern, which carries across the entire building.
